Virtual visits for grades K-6: FREE 30/40-minute Read + Q&A

As a children's book author and seasoned educator with over 30 years of experience, I am passionate about inspiring young minds to embrace the joy of reading and writing. My school visits are designed to captivate students from Kindergarten through Grade 6, offering an engaging blend of storytelling, wordplay, fascinating facts, and interactive discussions.

During our time together, students will delve into the creative processes behind beloved books like "Books For Benjamin"; and "Mother To Elephants," gaining insights into how these stories were crafted and the real-world inspirations behind them. These sessions not only entertain but also empower students with ideas and techniques to enhance their own writing skills.

I offer FREE virtual sessions via Zoom/Google Meet (Worldwide). If you're an educator eager to ignite a passion for literature and creative expression in your classroom, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can create a memorable and inspiring experience that fosters a lifelong love for reading and writing.

Testimonials from Recent School Visits

"Today Mr Rico visited our KG and FCH students! He read his new book, “Mother To Elephants,” sharing riveting tales from his research and personal adventures with elephants in Kenya. Students were so curious and engaged about the stories and asked very insightful questions about the ivory trade, elephant habitats, and diet. An exciting day of discovery and learning. Thank you, Mr. Rico!"

"Dear Fabulous Authors, I want to send each of you my heartfelt thank you for meeting with the Anna C. Scott students yesterday.  You all made a difference in their lives by sharing your time, stories and tips with them.  Below I am sharing the message that went out to the 700 parents in my school, featuring the covers of your books.  Our HSA also has a flyer posted on their Facebook page with all of your names. Thank you again."
